What's your favorite Relay memory?
AP: My favorite Relay memory is when Meghan, my co-chair, and I dressed up in the Relay morph suits as we danced around the first year dorms and cheered on teams as they competed in the Vermonster Ice Cream Challenge!
MD: My favorite Relay memory is definitely the luminaria ceremony - friends who luminaria together, stay together!
Why do you Relay?
AP: I Relay for all of my loved ones who have been affected by cancer. I hope that by my efforts and involvement in Relay For Life we might one day live in a world without cancer.
MD: I Relay because I have watched too many of my loved ones battle with cancer and lose the fight. I Relay to finish their fight and find a cure so that one day no one has to hear that their cancer is terminal.
What is your job for Relay 2014-15?
AP: My job is to seek out individuals, organizations, and businesses who would like to get involved with Relay For Life. My co-chair and I reach out to people who support Relay's mission by contributing monetary and in-kind donations. We also recognize their contributions at our main Relay For Life event in the Spring. You can contact me with questions regarding how to set up a partnership with Relay For Life at UVA and how Relay For Life at UVA recognizes its contributors with different types of advertising.
MD: For Relay 2014-2015 I am responsible for getting monetary donations to make our event fun and successful without taking away from money raised as well as in-kind donations for the awesome prize drawings and auctions! Please let me know if you know of any organizations, companies, or individuals - on or off Grounds - who you think would be willing to donate or a good person to reach out to for a potential partnership.
What do you do on Grounds outside of Relay?
AP: I am the External Interactions Chair for the ISC and an active member of my sorority, Alpha Phi.
MD: Sigma Kappa, Girls on the Run coach

AP: I make squirrel impersonations.
MD: I'm allergic to raw carrots, but can eat cooked carrots.
